Coach Marinicā Finalizes Training Plans for Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers
Liberia’s national football team, known as the “Lone Star,” has taken a significant step forward in their preparations for the Morocco 2025 Totalenergies Africa Cup of Nations.
Coach Mario Marinicā and his technical staff recently concluded a crucial meeting with the Local Football Association (FA) to discuss and finalize their training plans.
The primary objective of the meeting was to lay out a comprehensive training schedule and strategies in anticipation of the upcoming Preliminary Round match against Djibouti in March.
Coach Marinicā proposed a well-structured plan, which was unanimously approved during the meeting.
According to the proposal, the team will engage in two training sessions on Monday to focus on various aspects of their game.
Additionally, a training session and a friendly game are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
These activities will allow the team to fine-tune their skills, tactics, and team dynamics ahead of the crucial encounter with Djibouti.
To ensure a balanced representation of talent, Coach Marinicā plans to work with players selected from nine domestic league clubs.
Eight clubs from the first division and one from the second division have been chosen to join the training sessions.
This selection process aims to bring together the best talent from across the country, fostering unity and a sense of national pride within the “Lone Star” team.
Coach Marinicā, renowned for his expertise and tactical approach, will closely guide and mentor the players throughout the training sessions.
His aim is to enhance their individual skills while instilling a cohesive team spirit.
The friendly game scheduled midweek will serve as a valuable opportunity to assess the team’s progress and make any necessary adjustments before the Africa Cup of Nations.
The completion of the technical meeting signifies the collective determination and commitment of the coaching staff, the Local FA, and the players in their pursuit of success in international football competitions.
The entire nation eagerly awaits the outcome of these training sessions, with hopes high that the “Lone Star” will shine brightly and make their mark in the tournament.
Already, assistant coach Ronald D. Moroka and fitness coach, Chikondi Mandalasi have both arrived in Liberia ahead of the team’s preparation.
The 30 players, including two foreign-based players who are currently on vacation.
