SUPER EAGLE’S COACH: Consider Emmanuel Amunike For Super Eagles Job……Coach Yusuf Salihu
As Multiple Sources in the Football circle across the country continue to publish that Former Super Eagles and FC Barcelona star Emmanuel Amunike has been appointed as Head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria despite no official confirmation and announcement from the glass house, Chief Coach of Kogi United FC of Lokoja Yusuf Salihu has asked the Nigeria Football Federation to confirm the 1994 African Cup of Nations winning left winger as the Super Eagles substantive Coach.
Speaking to Sport writers on Tuesday 23rd April 2024 at the Kontagora Township Stadium one of the Venues of the ongoing New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League One Playoffs, Coach Yusuf said apart from the fact that Coach Emmanuel Amunike has paid his dues in the footballing world, he is highly experienced and will surely do well if saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the affairs of the National Team.
He said the experienced gaffer have all the necessary requirements to handle the Super Eagles having been saddled with National responsibilities in the past and has discharged effectively and efficiently
He said the call for another foreign coach to handle the eagles after the departure of Portuguese tactician Jose Pesseiro immediately the Afcon ended is not the best at this point.Coach Yusuf said he has 100% confidence and assurance in the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation under Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau to do justice to the issue of home-grown coaches for the Super Eagles.
He also call on the 1994 set of the Super Eagles who conquered Africa in Tunisia and also went on to the world stage for the first time to dazzle the world and make tremendous impact to rally round one of their own for the Super Eagles top job.
