Wikki Tourists Ahmad Abubakar today raised the hope of the team to pick one the slots for the nnl24 Super Eight (8) when he scored a hat trick in the four -one (4-1) defeat to Mighty Jets of Jos on match day 17 of the Nigeria National League Conference C played at the Atb Stadium, Bauchi.

Right from the first minute of the encounter Wikki Tourists did not leave any one in doubt on their quest for total victory.

Ten minutes into the game WikkiTourists got a penalty and Mamuda Aliyu stepped forward to take the kick but was saved by Jets keeper.

Ahmad Abubakar was on hand in the 25 minutes when he got the opening goal for Wikki Tourists finishing with a classical touch.

The relentless Abubakar came for the second time five minutes later after a goalmouth scramble took a shot that got the Jets goalie diving in vain to stop the goal sending both teams to the locker for the first half break.

On resumption the rejuvenated Ahmad Abubakar increased the tally for his team to three making it a hat trick and demoralized the visitor’s efforts to cause havoc for the home team.

A consolation goal for the jos based side came in the 85 minutes via a spot kick by Ogonye Martins sending Wikki Tourists keeper to the wrong direction with his simple kick.

Wikki Tourists substitute Owolabi Aremu who is the team’s high goal scorer wrap up the goal hauling on Mighty Jets with a superb spot kick following his pushing in the box by Jets defenders making the result 4-1 advantage Wikki Tourists FC.

The game was great especially that the boys played to instructions, I have to commend them for that zeal.

It was an important to us in our campaign for super eight, and as you can see the race is still open until the last day said Azeez.

The Wikki Tourists tactician emphasized the importance of the last game of the season against EFCC in Abuja stressing that with the victory today Wikki Tourists is very in contention.

He commended the organization of this year’s league, adding also that there’s still room for improvement.

Wikki Tourists FC will be visitors to EFCC FC Abuja next weekend for the final game of the season hoping to qualify for the super eight.
