Niger Tornadoes arrives Ijebu-Ode for Dapo Abiodun Preseason

2017 Aiteo Cup finalist and Nigeria National League Champions Niger Tornadoes have touched down in Ijebu-Ode for the second edition Dapo Abiodun Preseason Tournament.

The Ikon Allah boys will face fellow premiership counterpart Remo Stars FC, Sunshine Stars, MFM FC of  Lagos and Nigeria Nationwide League side Ottasolo FC in the group B of the tournament.

The Minna based team under the tutelage of Coach Abubakar Bala have been busy on the transfer market with the arrival of former Katsina United midfielder Destiny Ashadi from Rivers United, Abiodun Adebayo from Enyimba to make his second spell with the team.

Also, Martins Usule arrived from Enyimba FC after spending two seasons with the right times Nigeria Professional Football League to bolster the squad.

The 2019 Aiteo Cup finalist commenced their preseason tour with a loss to Plateau United 1-0, Wikki Tourists 1-0 respectively.
They recorded their first win over Bauchi non-league side AS Monaco Bakan 4-2.

“Technical Adviser hinted that ” We will use the preseason tour to access the newly recruited players and also blend with the old players in the team”

“it’s a gradual process, I believe before the kick-off of the season, there will be a change”, he concluded.

Niger Tornadoes make their return to the Nigeria Professional Football League for the first time in two years after winning the Nigeria National League Super 8 in Enugu.
