Gernot Rohr reports NFF to FIFA over $1 Million compensation

Nigeria Super Eagles sacked Coach Gernot Rohr dragged Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to FIFA on a $1m Compensation claim as NFF awaits to hear the final decision from FIFA.

Rohr becomes Nigeria Longest serving Coach after which he took his Super Eagles job in August 2016 and sacked in December 2021 before the 2021 Afcon in Cameroon.

Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed paying Rohr his salary until his contract expires in December 2022, but here, the former coach went to report at the World football governing body, demanding for an additional payment for damages.

But then, the claim was contested by NFF, with FIFA tribunal taking a check on Rohr’s danage claim which concluded last week, meanwhile the results to who wins are yet to come out from FIFA

According to Rohr:
“Mr Rohr’s the only one talking in the media about a case that is already with Fifa,” a top NFF official told BBC Sport Africa.

“That matter is being handled by our legal department and we are waiting [for] a verdict this week or next week before making any official statement.”

Though Rohr Solicitor was not there for reply but it is known from Gabon ago affirmed it that for sure, he was seeking for compensation.

Rohr continues:
“Now this case is with Fifa and they will decide,” the 68-year-old said.
