Doma United make it to the NPFL for the first time in history with Bendel insurance making a return
Doma United of Gombe secured promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League for the first time in the club history along side Bendel Insurance who make it their second coming in two seasons,Felele247.com reports.
The Pantami based club gained promotion to the Nigeria elite division after just a season in the Nigerian second division after gaining promotion from the Nigeria Nationwide League (third division) in 2021 after beating Gombe Warriors in one of the playoffs in Bauchi.
Doma United are eight points better after beating Jigawa Golden Stars by 2-0 to stay at top their matchday 20 of the current season which sees them picking the Northern Conference A2 only ticket with two games to spare.
Also, their counterparts from the Southern part of the Nigeria Bendel insurance are also cruised back into the Nigeria second division group B1 with a seven points lead gap, They secured their Insurance policy after Vandrezzer FC beat Gateway United 3-1 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Last weekend they beat Gateway United 4-0 to stamp their comeback to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
This will make it the second time Bendel insurance return to the Nigeria Professional Football League for the first time in two years.
The Nigeria Professional Football League awaits two more teams from the second division this season.
