CAF Super Cup gets new venue
The 2022 CAF Super Cup between Wydad Casablanca and RS Berkane will take place in the city Fez, Morocco and not Tanzania has announced by the Confederation of Africa Football CAF on Saturday 10th 2022, Felele247.com reports.
The match will be played at the Sports Complex of Fez and making it the for the first time that will see two Moroccan 🇲🇦 side facing eachother.
This is the fourth participation for Wydad Casablanca after beating Congo Kinshasa TP Mazembe 🇨🇩 in 2018 but lost in 1993 against Africa Sport of Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 and to Zamalek 🇪🇬 in 2003.
Renaissance Berkane lost to eight times holders and former African Champions Al Ahly 🇪🇬 in 2021.
Raja Casablanca is the current most successful Moroccan club with in two in 2000 and 2019.
Maghreb Fès is the other Moroccan team to have won the title in 2012 against Espérance Tunis. AS FAR and FUS participated in 2006 against Al Ahly and 2011 (against TP Mazembe respectively, but did not win the title. The Moroccan representatives lost on penalties.
