I can leave the club at anytime – Abdul Maikaba

Rangers Internationals manager Abdul Maikaba said he could leave the club after another disappointing result against Sunshine Stars at their adopted home ground Awka township stadium on Sunday, Felele247 Media reports.

The former Wikki Tourists manager signed a two contract with the 2016 Nigerian Champions suffered their defeat in the new season at home against their regional Abia Warriors in the matchday one, a lost against Lobi Stars in Jos in the matchday two of the new season

“Before our next game (against Niger Tornadoes), if its going to be possible (for me), to meet the representatives of Government of Enugu State to terminate my contract with Rangers”, Maikaba, a former teacher said in an emotion laden tone.

This is because, if I’m the problem of the team, I really love this team, they have treated me so well.

“So, if I’m the problem, I would want it *Rangers), to progress.

“So, me, I would like it, termination of this contract, to be on mutual concept (reasons)”.

Maikaba would further argue that the problem of Rangers is not technical.

“He anchored his argument on the fact that the team dominates possession in all the games they have played so far and create chances in the process but fail to convert them.

Worse still, losing a last gap spot kick in crucial game as was the case against Sunshine Stars is something he cannot explain.

“I take responsibility”, he quipped. “I’m the coach, I take responsibility for everything, whether good or bad”, he said.

Abdul Maikaba guided Akwa United to their first FA Cup (Aiteo Cup) in 2017 where they beat Niger Tornadoes on penalty 5-3 after a 0-0 draw.

Rangers International will travel for the weekend clash against the joint table toppers Niger Tornadoes for the Nigeria Premier Football League matchday four clash.
