Plateau United General Manager, Habila Mutia warns returning players against sports betting

The new General Manager of Plateau United, Habila Hosea in his first meeting with the players yesterday, 19th July 2023 at the New Jos Stadium, warned the players against sports betting as his management will not take it lightly with any player caught in the act.

Habila Hosea in the same vein promised to have a close relationship with every player of the team as he plans to know each player’s house and family.

Plateau United officially resumed training ahead of the 2023/24 Season of the Nigeria Premier League yesterday, 19th of July 2023. Habila Hosea Mutia who was recently appointed as the new General Manager of Plateau United by the governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, while welcoming the players said, “First and foremost let me introduce to you your new Technical Adviser, Mbwas Mangut, and Patrick Mancha the Chief Coach, which some of you know already. I urge you to work with them to achieve our targets together”.

He went further, “I also want to warn you against sports/football betting as we have discovered that it has become the bane of Nigerian football amongst players. Let me use this occasion to let you know that we will not condone such as anyone caught will be severely punished when discovered.

On the first day of training, most players from last season were in attendance with some new faces and some returning players.

The new General Manager told the players in attendance, “Anybody that wants to leave should please do so before the coaches invest time in you and as a management, we have you in our plans, and in the last minute you abandon the team”.

Hosea Mutia informed the players that moving forward, the Plateau United coaching crew will now be carrying out video analysis of matches so that the players themselves will have an opportunity to assess themselves with the coaches’ help.

The GM also used the occasion to introduce the new media team of Plateau United to be headed by Yaksat Maklek of the Plateau Radio Television Corporation. Others are Pam Doyle also of the PRTVC, Ibrahim Lot of the Nigerian Standard, Longwa Buba of PRTVC, Dan Kwaki, Jonah Dadiam and Daspan Danjuma
