Rwandan champions complete Victor Mbaoma transfer

Rwanda League champions APR FC has announced the capture of the former Nigeria Premier League striker Victor Mbaoma on a 2-year deal,

The former Enyimba front-man touched down in the capital Kigali last Sunday to stamped his contract with “The Lions” after helping Katsina United back to the Nigeria Premier League, scoring vital goals for them in the Super 6 playoff.

Since 2012, APR has placed an embargo on signing foreign players into the team but decided to change the rule in December 2022.

“Victor Mbaoma, 26 years old, has signed the APR FC shirt for 2 years.

He will represent the club in the league matches and in the CAF Champions League”, the club confirmed.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT APR FC

Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR FC or APR) is a professional football club from Kigali in Rwanda. The club plays their home games at Amahoro Stadium.

The club was founded in June 1993 as the team of the Rwandese Patriotic Front.

Despite their short history, they become one of the most successful club in the Rwandan football league winning seventeen Rwandan league titles and seven Rwandan Cups. APR FC also won the CECAFA Clubs Cup in 2004, 2007 and 2010 after ending up as losing finalists in that competition in 1996 and 2000.

In 2022, the club reached the Second Round of the CAF Champions League for the first time in club history.
