Muhammed Baba Ganaru To Safeguard Akwa United From The Drop

Muhammed Baba Ganaru has joined Nigeria 🇳🇬 Premier Football League side Akwa United for the rest of the season,Felele247.com.ng understands.

The former Gombe United gaffer has been tasked to guide the team to escape the drop after the club extraordinary performance against Plateau United last weekend in Jos where they beat the Peace Boys 2-1 to leapfrog out of relegation zone.

Baba Ganaru left another relegation bound Gombe United in what he called lack of interest by owners of the team.

Club Chairman, Elder Paul Bassey said it was a privilege having coach Babaganaru in Akwa United.

“We took a while to contact a gaffer after the departure of coach Fatai Osho because we wanted one of the best.

“When coach Babaganaru left Gombe United, we moved in and convinced him out of his desired rest to help us fight the drop.

“In doing so, we will forever be grateful to coach Umar Abdullahi and his colleagues for a difficult assignment that has started yielding fruits. Coach Umar is a young coach to watch”.

The Chairman also spent time congratulating the players for the spirit of dedication, focus and determination they are currently putting in, to return Akwa United to where they rightfully belong.

Elder Bassey urged the supporters of the club to continue to support the team that has severally brought honour to the football loving people of the state.

Muhammed Baba Ganaru is regarded as one of the experience coach in the Nigeria Football League.

He won the league twice with Kano Pillars in 2013 and 2014 and he has previously worked with Yobe Desert Stars, El-Kanemi Warriors, Lobi Stars and Gombe United
