FIFA Orders NFF To Replace Executive Member, Ahlan As Refs Committee Boss

World football Governing Body, FIFA ,have effectively fired Kano State Football Association Chairman, Sharif Inuwa Ahlan as Chairman of the NFF Referees Appointment Committee.

A circular from FIFA to the Nigeria 🇳🇬 Football Federation has ordered that referees appointment bodies across the world should now be headed by a professional, which in this case would mean a retired referee.

Sharif Inuwa Ahlan was re-elected back into the Referee Appointment committee in 2019 will now vacate the seat for a retired referee.

There is a possible candidate to mount the vacant position in the person of Aliyu Zubairu who is a senior staff in the Nigeria Football Federation Referee Appointment committee will take over the affairs of the department for now before the 2023 Nigeria Football Federation election.

The NFF will now have to appoint a new Chairman of the Referees Committee ahead of the new football season.

The Referee Appointment Committee department is in charge of Referees in the Nigerian domestic leagues.
