FC Sabon Gari set to feature in NLO ONE next season

Nigeria Nationwide League division 2 FC Sabon Gari will feature in the division One of the third tier of Nigeria football League next season, Felele247 Media reports

The FC Sabon Garin of Kano based have reached agreement with FC Mumbayya also of Kano to take over their Nigeria Nationwide League One due to financial some constrain experienced by FC Mumbayya last season.

Established in 2020 by former Plateau United Goal Keeper Chika George Chukwu, who is also brother to Daniel Chima Chukwu, former player at Lyn Oslo and Molde FC of Norway and currently a pointman for Indian top division Jamshedspur FC.

Speaking exclusively to Felele247 Media Chika George Chukwu disclosed that the main purpose of the club is to harness the potential of young players who are trying to make name for themselves on the global stage of the game.

Sabon Gari has produced a lot of footballers for Nigeria, some have retired from the game, the likes of Joseph Dimlong Dimlong, Jude Ebitogwa, Oliver Agbo, Osita Echendu, Kingsley Francis, Joseph Onwuga, Kelvin Okechukwu, Sunday Rotimi, Orji Madu, Emmanuel Ogoemeka, Stephen Aduma, Kelechi Mayor, Slyvester Omoja, Charlse Ogechi Johnson, Chukwuemeka Ba, Okwudili Okafor and so many others, while some are still playing – Daniel Chima Chukwu, Uche Agbo, Peter Nwoarah, Ifeanyi Lucky Friday. And so many others.

FC Sabon Gari is a multicultural club, where youths in the community will have the opportunity to showcase their talents.

FC Sabon Gari has commenced training ahead of the 2022/2023 Nigerian Nationwide League at their home Kano Pillar stadium, Sabon Gari.
