AFCON23: AC Milan Star Chukwueze To Arrive Late Into The Super Eagles Camp

Milan, Bennacer will join Algeria immediately. Chukwueze remains available for Cagliari

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is approaching and Milan  must deal with absences: Samuel Chukwueze and Ismael Bennacer will respond to the calls of Nigeria and Algeria

The Rossoneri, awaiting the match against Sassuolo, will begin 2024 against Cagliari (Italian Cup match scheduled for 2 January). For the match at San Siro, Milan would have liked to have both Ismael Bennacer and Samuel Chukwueze available, and then leave them free at the end of the match.

But Algeria was adamant: it rejected the requests of Milan, and also of other clubs. Bennacer had given the OK to be available against Cagliari, but he will clearly follow the directives of the Algerian federation.

Chukwueze, however, will remain available to Milan until January 3rd. The Nigerian federation accepted the Rossoneri’s request. The right wing will therefore be able to play or in any case be available for Milan-Cagliari in the Italian Cup, scheduled for January 2nd.
