Former Niger Tornadoes of Minna coach, Abubakar Bala has been appointed as the new technical adviser of Kwara United.

He replaces John Obuh who recently resigned his position, following the not too impressive performance of the club in the Nigeria professional football league.

Coach Bala is expected to be unveil to the public on Wednesday 14/03/2018 at the conference room of the indoor hall, Kwara state stadium complex Ilorin by 4pm prompt.

Abubakar Bala will take the harmony Boys to their next game against the Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United away in Jos on Sunday.

Former Nigerian league champions, Enugu Rangers International F.C are set to continue with the form that saw it defeat eternal rivals, Heartland, as Katsina United come calling in a match Day 4 of 2017/2018 NPFL season encounter, tomorrow, inside the main bowl of the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu.

In a release from the media department of the club signed by the media officer, Norbert Okolie, the players are in very high spirit and hope to annex the maximum points at stake.

“We have gone past the challenging period of our campaign and the players are well motivated to make our supporters happy on Wednesday. All registered players except Temitope Olusesi, Brownbraye Okpus and Ajani Ibrahim are available for selection by the coaching crew led by Coach Olugbenga Ogunbote,” said the media officer.

The match is slated to kickoff by 4.00 PM inside the main bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu 

The chairman of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, Mr Seni Saraki has approved the appointment of former Kwara United Head Coach, Tunde Sanni, as the Club's Technical Adviser.

Alloy Chukwuemeka, the team's Director of Football, confirmed this development in an interview with the newsmen on Tuesday in Ilorin.

Chukwuemeka said the former Shooting Stars of Ibadan player will take charge of the Saraki Club in March as hostilities in the NNL league resumes .

He added that the appointment of Tunde Sanni became necessary after the expiration of the two seasons contract of coach Henry Makinwa who is presently on disengagement leave in Spain .

The ABS Director of Football, explained that Sanni's wealth of experience earned him the job and called on the club's teeming supporters to give him the needed support for the progress of the Club.

Sanni has worked under the watchful eyes of the likes of Chief Festus Onigbinde, late Kafaru Alabi and Ahmadu Shuaibu, Joe Erico, Clemence Westerhoof, Fatai Amoo among other notable coaches.

Coach Tunde Sanni, an indegiene of Ilorin in kwara state holds a CAF B' coaching license and a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife.

Chukwuemeka said details of his contract will be made available during his unveiling ceremony.

Niger Tornadoes dropped to the fifth position on the Nigeria professional football league log after a shocking defeat in Jos courtesy of Abdullahi Mustapha's header in the 60th of the highly entertaining match against Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi.
Niger Tornadoes started on the front foot after half-time but fell behind when Mustapha Abdullahi's header beat Terka Melai on the goal mouth who came in for the injured Mustapha Aliko before the halftime.
The ikon Allah boys should have buried the game at the early minute of the match, Wikki Tourist backline were up to the task of securing their defence. Also, Wikki’s goalkeeper Sani Halliru was called the action when Nosiru Afees forced his way inside and hammered a powerful low drive shot towards the firing line, the former goalie responded with sharp reflexes to parry the ball to safety.
Erick Frimpong almost levelled when he forced his way into the Wikki’s box when hitting the post with a powerful strike from close, but otherwise, Niger Tornadoes were goal shy as they failed to break down Wikki’s defence.
At the half the hour mark, Solomon Owello delivered a lofty pass to Ibrahim Babawo on the far right, who managed to squeeze past two defenders, but his shot went wide of the post.
The first half ended in a draw, but Wikki Tourists also should have been 1-0 up in the dying minutes of the first half, Mustapha Aliko denied Harrison Madu's shot to go in, the veteran goalkeeper was later stretch ed out due to an injury.
The second half sees the former table toppers coming out smoking which resulted in some series saves by Wikki Tourists goalie Sani Halliru, but the Bauchi based finally broke the deadlock in the 60th minutes when Nosiru Afees brought down Kabuga on the byline, Peter Ambrose bend a free-kick that met unmarked Mustapha Ibrahim inside the box.
Late in the hour, Solomon Owello was forced to be substituted due to an injury he sustained after he was hacked down by Harrison Madu as Niger Tornadoes continue to mount pressure on Wikki Tourists.
Niger Tornadoes will face Akwa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 4 in Lokoja, while Wikki Tourists move to the 14th position on the log, they will visit Kwara United in Ilorin for matchday 4 on Wednesday

The President of Lagos based Nationwide league side, Freestan football club, Prince Efemena Elutabe, has urged Sunday Faleye, who scored the lone and winning goal for the Super Eagles against Libya in the ongoing CHAN in Morocco to keep up the good work.

This message was contained in a press release congratulating the team for defeating Libya and improving its chances of qualifying for the next stage of the championship.

Nigeria had on Friday defeated Libya 1-0 courtesy of a 79 minutes strike by teenage sensation, Sunday Faleye.

" Firstly, I want to congratulate the Super Eagles for its victory against Libya. I want to commend the team and its officials for making us proud, " Elutabe said.

The President of the Ajegunle based club was also quick to shower praises on one of his team's products, Sunday Faleye,  for his heroics so far in the championship.

" I want to say that we are proud of the performances of Sunday Faleye in the ongoing championship. He is our ambassador from Ajegunle and he has a mission to tell the world that we are, indeed, a uniquely gifted people, " he added gleefully.

The Super Eagles who has so far garnered four points from two matches played,  continue its quest for honours in the championship on Tuesday with an all important tie against Equatorial Guinea.
